This weekend was a bit of a family weekend. Friday night my brother-in-law hosted a party at his place with the Bos side, in celebration of his birthday and mine, since they are only 2 days apart. It was a really enjoyable evening and I appreciated how relaxing it was too. Since we moved out of the Smithville area, and into Grassie, we don't see as much of the family as we used to.
Saturday was a work on the house day. We are attempting to fix what we destroyed when we moved in. I guess it was a family day too since I spent the day working with my husband . . . and no fights! I don't know what people are talking about when they say "never do house repairs with your spouse, it leads to stress in the marriage!" We have fun hammering away, painting and fixing the house together. Maybe thats because Darryl is an easy-going patient kind of guy!
On Sunday I invited my side of the family over after our second church service. There was a serving up of coffee and cake (of course) and then everyone stayed for supper. We went through a huge pan of soup and a couple loaves of bread! Good thing Darryl and I were prepared! God has definitely blessed with an abundance of food! When everyone left, we could reflect on how thankful we could be for the wonderful family relationships we have, whether it be with a niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, sibling, parent or grandparent.
All in all I have concluded that it was a very nice weekend. Hope yours was too!

Invitations at a Glance!

A look at some custom work that I am doing right now. These invitations are almost finished! They have a nice elegant touch with the black cardstock. I tried my hand at photography too. I love taking pictures but it takes a bit to get it the way I want and how I had envisioned. This is the first time I decided to take a few shots of my work at I am in the progress. Usually I stick to making a page in my portfolio (ok its a scrapbook!) with the few extra cards I have leftover.
I think I'll sign off here, since I need to go to bed. I need a good sleep since I turn 25 tomorrow. I think I'll need lots of strength for that blow . . . whew, I am feeling feeble in my old age!

Business OR Busyness?
Well I decided it was high time I wrote another blurb that no one will read! My home business finally has a new and improved name . . . In My Attic Studio. I have given in and printed business cards too. Its pretty exciting, taking this next step.
This time of year definitely brings in numerous clientelle, due to the amount of summer weddings. There I sit night after night, bent over a table, folding, printing, glueing, cutting etc. all for the image that I have in my mind. And I love every minute of it, that is such a blessing. I hope all these late nights won't bite me in the butt one of these days, though!
The first wedding I was working on is already done, and now I am starting on the second. There is a little more handwork involved with this one, as opposed to printing only, but that is the joy of creating a custom invitation. Each one is unique . . .
However I must sign off here and return the joys of docket invoicing and checking at my day job! (No one ever told me to quit my day-job so here I am still! I am waiting . . .)
